Lyle's R/C Airplane Page
SITE INDEX
This site is dedicated to helping R/C modelers, both old-timers and newbies.
To accomplish this we have kept ALL "cute" graphics, animations and sounds out to reduce download and connection times. We know this is not the "usual" way on the Information Highway, but, geeze, we aren't doing this page to show how clever we are, but to help you locate "stuff". (Besides, I have done those "clever" pages in the past and, to be honest, they aren't worth the time and effort...)
Only fixed-wing airplane-related sites are listed here. If you are into helis, cars, trucks, boats, trains or anything else...you are at the wrong site (lordy mercy, do you have ANY idea how many thousands of web sites there are? You gotta stop somewhere!)
We have the following at this site (hopefully, more to come soon)
1. R/C definitions for the newcomer
2. I want to learn to fly. How do I get started?
Other links to "getting started" informational web pages.
My favorite links for e-power planes and stuff.
3. Web links for:
Manufacturers and Distributors (350-plus list of web sites for everything under the sun)
SIG definitions and web sites ...all those strange acronymns.
Aerospace Museums around the world.
4. Strange Stuff (If you are bored, check these out. Links to flapping wing powered planes, R/C bombers used in WWII, a purely solar-powered RC plane and other wierd R/C stuff I liked.)
5. Crash Stories (most are humorous)
6. Crash Pics (most are NOT humorous) Be patient, this will take time to load
7. About Me (Which DOES contain a few pics and consequently takes longer to load...sigh)
8. Under Construction (Obviously not yet active)
If you would like to contact me with any lost links, corrections, additions, etc. you can e-mail me at sticktalker@yahoo.com. Be sure to put "RC PAGE" as the topic header or I will probably toss your email since I seldom open mail from folks I do not know. By the way, I am relatively new to the hobby, having started in August of 1999 shortly after retiring as a journalist/publisher/printer. I have yet to finish pilot training on the buddy box with my club, but I have switched to electric flight since it, generally, is slower and lower and us old guys need all of the help we can get (not to mention the fact that gas/glow engines and I don't get along at all...and I HATE the mess glow engines leave on my aircraft). For more on me, click on the link "About Me" above.
Hungry? Like good food? Then you want to check out my wife's home pages. She has collected from family and friends a lot of her favorite "Southern Cooking" type foods (she is from Tennessee and is a GREAT cook...if you don't believe me, look at the size of my tummy!) Elaine's Kitchen.(Sorry, this site is not open)
